Style Council - Promised Land (Leftside Wobble Edit)

An edit of a Balearic classic just in time for NYE. If you haven't bought tickets yet I'm playing with a host of West London DJ talent at the Hats, Glasses & Moustaches party at The Masons Arms (I beleive there are a few £10 tickets left if you're quick).

Style Council - Promised Land (Leftside Wobble Edit) by Leftside Wobble

A couple of fund-raisers this week

On Saturday I'm DJing alongside Rocky & Diesel for the annual Trees charity fundraiser that I've been involved with (for nearly 20 years!). Really special Shoreditch venue, full details at the events page:

And I know this ones short notice but it's bound to be an absolute corker. Tonight I'm DJing alonside John Carter, Billy Nasty & Paul Daley of Leftfied fame (amongst many others) for a fundraiser (in aid of a mate who got himself into a spot of bother with the Hong Kong Authorities, full details at the event page) at Canal 125 in Kings Cross:

Leftside Funkin' part 2

A year after the first instalment of Leftside Funkin' we return to some groove led splendour. Funk, Northern Soul, Boogie and Balearic dance floor nuggets nestling with some slo-mo house flavours towards the end of the mix.

As ever hope you enjoy. J x

Electric Influences part 1

A selection of Electro/Italo tracks that got me into DJing in the first place. I remember at the time funding my record buying habit by making tapes for school mates and charging them 50p for each import single and 25p for each British one. How else was teenage schoolboy going to afford all those exotic records he was falling in love with listening to pirate radio!

I've also stuck a couple of contemporary tracks in the mix that wear their electro influences firmly on their sleeves for comparison. Really enjoyed putting this one together. J x

n.b. One of the tracks included is The Beat Club's Security, the first single signed to Rob Gretton's (former New Order manager) Rob's Records, the label one half of the Disco Outcasts (Sefano) was signed to for many years. Reason I mention it, I'm guesting at the Disco Outcasts Halloween special on October 31st. If you fancy a trip to Manchester that weekend it's sure to be stormer.
