Tonight I'm DJing alonside John Carter, Billy Nasty & Paul Daley of Leftfied fame (amongst many others) for a fundraiser (in aid of a mate who got himself into a spot of bother with the Hong Kong Authorities, full details at the event page) at Canal 125 in Kings Cross:
A year after the first instalment of Leftside Funkin' we return to some groove led splendour. Funk, Northern Soul, Boogie and Balearic dance floor nuggets nestling with some slo-mo house flavours towards the end of the mix.

A selection of Electro/Italo tracks that got me into DJing in the first place. I remember at the time funding my record buying habit by making tapes for school mates and charging them 50p for each import single and 25p for each British one. How else was teenage schoolboy going to afford all those exotic records he was falling in love with listening to pirate radio!
I've also stuck a couple of contemporary tracks in the mix that wear their electro influences firmly on their sleeves for comparison. Really enjoyed putting this one together. J x

One of the tracks included is The Beat Club's Security, the first single signed to Rob Gretton's (former New Order manager) Rob's Records, the label one half of the Disco Outcasts (Sefano) was signed to for many years. Thanks for all the support on this. The edits currently the second most popular thing on SoundCloud and building momentum by the day. For a bit of fun I've had a play with the video capibilities of Ableton and put a something together based on a rare 1967 cartoon that featured the song. The cartoon looks like a bit of a cash-in to be honest but it's fun none the less.
Extended edit of Tomorrow Never Knows with the usual Leftside Wobble dub shenanigans. Hard to update a classic but hopefully I've done it justice. Hope you think so too.
I recorded this mix 2 years ago to celebrate Notting Hill Carnival (it also happens to be the first ever mix I put out under the Leftside Wobble name). At the time it was only made available as a low bit rate file so this is the first time it's been available at 320k. It's a full on Marley version excursion, hope you enjoy.
