Warped Rhythms (a trip through 25 years of Warp Records)

Includes tracks from Boards of Canada, The Sabres of Paradise, Red Snapper, Jake Slazenger, Nightmares On Wax, Jamie Lidell, Link, Leila, Speedy J, LFO, Kenny Larkin, Luke Vibert, !!!, CSS, AFX and B12. As you'd expect from Warp Records it's a heady mix of styles and genres but it's held together by a common 'off kilter' attitude.

A few of the tracks originally appeared on the Aphex Twins Rephlex imprint but they're by artists that have a long history with Warp (including RDJ himself).

Public Service Broadcasting - The Guardian Interview

There's an ace interview in today's Guardian with Public Service Broadcasting- http://xrl.us/bqj7eh - a band that I've been supporting from their earliest days. Last year they took the UK festival circuit by storm and now they're just about to embark on their first US tour.

My remix of Everest is still to be officially released but has become an anthem for those few DJ's that managed to nab a copy. Justin Robertson closed a good many of his 2012 sets with Everest and it even found it's way on to the set list of disco don Jim Stanton of Horse Meat Disco fame.

Really happy to be associated with such a great & inventive band. Let's hope they smash it in the US they way they have here in the UK for the last 18 months or so.

Second week in a row for a Chris Coco posting. Recorded live at the Summer Sound festival in Finland; this is the best 'wind down' selection I've heard in quite some time. Beautiful stuff indeed...

Justin Velor - Flameout (Psychemagik Mix)

One of our guests at tonights nights Big in Japan released a wonderfully eclectic album this week (produced by 808 States Graham Massey and Dove frontman Jez Williams no less). On this outing friends of the family Psychemagik take one of the albums lead tracks into outer space. Truly beautiful - in an Adriatic k-hole kind of way... :) You can grab a free download of this from - http://www.xlr8r.com/mp3/2012/12/flameout-psychemagik-remix

11 Inch - Back To Back

Very seldom does a 4 track EP come along where each & every track blows me away. Definitely one of my favourite releases in a very long time:
