The Egg - Woodstock 69
Probably my favourite track off the new 'The Egg' album. There's something very reminiscent of 'The Grid' about this one in the best possible way.
Greg Wilson at The Bunker in Brooklyn
If there's one Greg Wilson mix you're going to download this year make it this one. At close to four hours long this is the perfect "all back to mine" soundtrack for those times when you want the party to carry on just that little bit more...

Getting The Horn (a selection of Tusk Wax delights)
To coincide with Tusk's debut London set at Big In Japan (The Book Club) this Friday I've put together this showcase mix highlighting some of my favourite tracks released on the Tusk Wax family of labels over the last 12 months or so. http://www.facebook.com/events/400085500040022/
Judging by the quality of the labels releases so far, Tusk Wax's future looks very rosy indeed.

LCD Soundsystem - Bye Bye Bayou (Research Remix)
Final freebie of the day is a sleazy remix of LCD Soundsystem's Bye Bye Bayou by Research (whose 'Day By Day' single is due for digital release in September).
Tom Petty - Learning To Fly (Flash Atkins Rework)
Free download No.2 of the day. Paper Recordings Flash Atkins reworks Tom Petty's 'Learning To Fly' into one those old school balearic/AOR guilty pleasures that make so much sense at the end of an evenings heavier dance floor tackle. Ace!
The Haggis Horns - The Traveller Part 2 (PBR Streetgang Mix)
One of my favourite remixes from last year which unfortunately didn't see an official release is being given away as a free download by the very talented chaps from PBR Streetgang. :)

Lucio Battisti - El Velero (Psychemagik Edit)
One of my favourite Italo tracks, expertly edited by the Psychemagik boys and given away as a free download. Get in say I...
Salsoul Orchestra - Double Action (Evil K'Neil Edit)
Neil Diablo takes his scalpel to the Salsoul Orchestra's Double Action and gives it away as a free download. And damn fine it is too.

Jill Scott - Love Rain (Detroit Swindle Rework)
Forget if I've posted about this before. Detroit Swindle take on Jill Scott to glorious effect and give the results away as a free download.

Dead Rose Music Company - Your Kisses
Started the day yesterday with a Dead Rose Music Company remix of Bonar Bradberry so this seems apt this morning. This beauty which is part of the latest four tracker from Throne Of Blood (and includes tracks from Bicep & Midnight Magic too) goes in store on Monday. As ever with TOB vinyl get in quick...

Viadrina - Better (Arto Mwambe Remix)
This track has been a real sleeper for me. Over the months the reaction it gets just gets bigger & bigger and it's now one of the highlight tracks in my sets - just wait for when the bass kicks in around the 2 min mark, you'll be hooked. Available now through the usual digital outlets and for those of a vinyl persuasion, in a few weeks via the ever excellent We Play House imprint.

Late Night Tuff Guy - I Love Ya
Late Night Tuff Guy has picked a winner to rework here, picking Rufus & Chaka Khan's 1974 hit 'You Got The Love' - he's picked out the Zeppelin like guitar parts to riff on and by the time Chaka's vocals hit your hooked.
If you're trying to hunt down his releases, most of his stuff is vinyl only and on very short pressings - 300 or so. But his Discogs page is a good place to start - http://www.discogs.com/artist/Late+Nite+Tuff+Guy there's a bundle of dealers there selling his wares. :)

A track for the album in the spirit of my acid soul series of mixes. Not the final mix but gives a good idea of where it's heading.

Snoop - Drop It (Boris Dlugosch bootleg)
This has been a bit of a revival track for me this summer having found the original bootleg pressing at the bottom of a discarded pile vinyl in my loft. I'm only going to keep this available for a week so grab it whilst you can.

Disco Tech - Funky Hero's (Vol. 2)
I must admit I'm getting a tad bored with the majority of lowest common denominator edit EP's that have been clogging up the Juno charts for the last couple of years but Sweden's Disco Tech always delivers especially with his more downtempo numbers and especially on his disco-fied reggae edits. Quality stuff.
Bo Saris - She's On Fire (Maya Jane Coles Remix)
Just realised this beauty get's it's download release today. A lesson in how to take a slightly cheesy Amy Winehouse-alike and turn it into gold. That Bo Saris has a damn fine voice too...

Chicago Damn - Be Your Man
It's reached that time of year when I start digging through the collection those perfect Carnival gems and Chicago Damn's 'Be Your Man' fits the bill perfectly. Still my favourite Chicago Damn production.
